Lot 50 Traffic Flow Changes
Thursday, February 6, 2025
Mavericks, we heard you loud and clear! We’re rolling out a pilot program designed to improve traffic flow and reduce exit times in the southern parking lots during peak hours, based on feedback from our student commuters.
WHAT'S CHANGING?
Lot 50 Exits Redirected – To streamline traffic and improve exit times, all northern exits from Lot 50 will be closed during peak hours. Instead, all vehicles must exit via the southern end of the lot onto Grand St.
Lot 49 Traffic Remains Unchanged – If you park in Lot 49, your routine stays the same. Keep exiting onto Doug Russell as usual.
WHY THE CHANGE?
Students have voiced concerns about long delays when leaving the southern lots, especially after classes. By funneling Lot 50 traffic onto Grand St., we aim to reduce congestion at Doug Russell and speed up overall exit times.
WHEN DOES IT START?
This pilot program will begin in the coming days and continue for a trial period. During this time, we’ll closely monitor traffic patterns and make adjustments as needed.
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
- Follow posted signs and traffic flow indicators.
- Allow extra time as we test this new system.
- Provide feedback! We want to know if this makes your commute smoother.
Stay tuned for updates, and as always, thank you for helping us make Maverick Country’s parking experience better!
